Tradition carries a combination of trust with experience. The knowledge of knowing the best and most effective ways to fix mechanical and collision problems to keep vehicle s running and looking their best has been part of the success of Cumming Motors.
70 years ago, at the end of World War II, Wayne Cumming and his wife, Martha, opened the first Cumming Motors auto body repair and paint shop.
William, Jr. and David, their two sons joined their parents in operating the family business about 50 years ago. After William Senior’s death, David took over running the shop.
More than 30 years ago, David’s three sons joined him in the business. David, Jr. started in 1983, followed by Vince and Mike in 1989. Their first downdraft spray booth was installed that same year.
A History of Service Extending to Present and Future Vehicles
After the turn of the century, 2001 saw plans to expand the facility and double the size of the operation. Today, Cumming Motors encompasses 21,000 square feet! This is real growth, with an eye toward the future.
As you can see, growing a family business takes dedication and time. Through three generations, Dave, Vince, and Mike Cumming, along with their mother, Julia, carry the tradition of professional collision repair. This practice has benefitted the local driving community in many ways.
